The fifth edition of the #BenidormTeDaMás consumer voucher campaign has closed with an economic impact of just over 4.5 million euros on the local economy, according to figures provided today by the mayor, Toni Pérez. An edition in which 590 establishments have participated and which “this year had a solidarity component, with one in five vouchers downloaded being allocated to helping people affected by the DANA tragedy in our sister province of Valencia”. Specifically, 473,323 euros will be allocated to this cause, which will reach the victims through the 'Som Solidaritat' account set up by the Generalitat Valenciana.
In total, between 16 and 31 December, 47,323 people downloaded their consumer vouchers, 72.38% of the registered users who could benefit from this campaign - 65,381 people. In addition, 236,610 vouchers were downloaded, of which 169,529 were redeemed, bringing the more than 72,000 purchases recorded to 4,519,692.55 euros, which means that “for every euro contributed by the City Council to this campaign, almost two more have been spent, multiplying the impact of the campaign”.
Toni Pérez has detailed that “the volume of downloads and users who have joined this edition of #BenidormTeDaMás are very similar to those of the previous campaign, although there has been a decrease in the number of vouchers finally used”. Despite everything, “the balance is, once again, very positive since it has encouraged the revitalization of commercial activity in our city, favoring local consumption and achieving a very important return that goes beyond municipal investment.”
During the balance of the campaign, the mayor has also referred to the face-to-face attention that has been provided on the ground floor of the City Hall and in the administrative extensions to nearly 2,500 people who have been assisted in the process of downloading the vouchers.
The mayor recalled that “in Benidorm we were pioneers in implementing and promoting consumer vouchers and, year after year, we have maintained the essence that makes us unique compared to other municipalities: universality, since in our city all people registered over 18 years of age as of 31 December have been able to participate in this initiative.”
The mayor has announced that “next week the payment to the establishments of the last batch of vouchers will be approved, those exchanged between December 27 and 31, after having already paid for those consumed up to that date for an amount of 1.4 million euros”. “Once again, we have tried to be very agile so that this economic injection quickly reaches our productive fabric”, he added.
The #BenidormTeDaMás initiative was endowed in this fifth edition with 2,564,400 euros, of which the City Council contributes 1,918,659 euros and the 645,741 euros come from the Provincial Council of Alicante.

The Benidorm Punk Weekender is also taking place, offering multi-day alternative music performances. This week is more about the post-Easter buzz, nightlife, and events in venues rather than big parades.
