Once again this year, the Anglican Church of the Costa Blanca has managed to gather around a hundred people on the beach in l'Albir singing Christmas carols in English. It is very common in England for choral groups to gather in the street to sing Christmas songs, a tradition that the British residents of l'Alfàs del Pi and the surrounding area have wanted to bring here in order to create a Christmas atmosphere and celebrate the arrival of the holidays.
The Councillor for International Residents, Martine Mertens, and the Councillor for Relations with Residents' Groups and Clubs, Patrick de Merisman, have come to the beach in l'Albir to take part in a meeting that is becoming more important every year.
Costa Blanca Anglican Chaplaincy Albir Church is part of the European Diocese of the Church of England. Its area of influence covers several municipalities in the provinces of Valencia and Alicante, with 8 churches from Denia to El Campello. In l'Alfàs del Pi they officiate mass for the community of English residents on Thursdays, at 11 am, and on Sundays, at 9:30 am, from the facilities of the senior living The Comm. Among the parishioners there are both long-stay English residents and those who come to the municipality to spend a season, mainly during the winter months.
