The British organisation Spiritual Foundation Alfaz has made a new donation to the Social Volunteering Association of l'Alfàs for the Local Food Bank. Specifically, they have carried out a solidarity purchase of milk and oil worth 200 euros, to which have been added the contributions of food made by members of the association.
The donation ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Social Volunteering of l'Alfàs, a meeting attended by Dorothy Kerslake, head of Spirtual Foundation Alfaz , and Julie Willis, member of the board of directors; Martine Mertens, Councilor for International Residents; Isabel Muñoz, Councilor for Cooperation and Volunteering, and Patrick de Meirsman, Councilor for Relations with Residents' Associations and Clubs; Antonio Viso, president of Social Volunteering, accompanied by Joanna Wilson, treasurer of the association, and a group of volunteers.
Spiritual Foundation Alfaz was founded in 2004 and currently has a hundred members of different nationalities, mainly British, Norwegian, Swedish and German.
They have their main headquarters at the Forum Mare Nostrum facilities. They meet every Thursday and, among their activities, the solidarity fairs they organise on spiritual and physical health stand out, with which they raise funds for social projects.
The Alfàs City Council is grateful for this new donation, highlighting the solidarity of the Alfasina population. Whether through groups, companies or individuals, contributions to Social Volunteering continue, collaborating with the people who need it most.
T he Social Voluntary Association of l'Alfàs del Pi was created in January 2013 in order to assist people at risk of social exclusion in the municipality. The local administration publicly values and supports the effective and discreet work carried out by the Volunteers, a group made up of people of different ages and nationalities who are grateful for the thousands of hours they dedicate each year to this important work.
