New features at the Finestrat mobile ecopark. From now on, the service will be provided on Saturdays and, as a novelty, it will be open uninterruptedly from 10:00 to 18:00.
As for locations , there are also new features so that citizens can more easily remember where they are each week:
When the month has 5 weeks, the Ecopark returns to La Cala.
This service has been offered in Finestrat since last April as a result of the collaboration between Finestrat City Council and Consorci Mare.
It should be remembered that the mobile eco-park is a vehicle prepared for the deposit of certain waste such as small electronic devices, used cooking oil and automotive oil, button and electric batteries, x-rays, small toxic containers, ink cartridges, light bulbs, fluorescent lamps , etc. These are wastes that are generated in homes and cannot be disposed of in traditional collection containers. From now on, it can be found every Saturday at a point in Finestrat , either La Cala,
housing estates or the historic centre. It can be consulted every week on the social networks of the Finestrat City Council and also of the Consorci Mare.
Permanent eco-park on the Boulevard
In addition to the Consorci Mare mobile eco-park, Finestrat also has a permanent eco-park on the commercial Boulevard, specifically at Carrer Alfàs del Pi, 6. In this case, the opening hours for citizens are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., as well as Saturday mornings, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Types of waste
Citizens can access this Ecopark with their own vehicle and deposit their different types of domestic (non-industrial) waste in the corresponding space (furniture, electrical appliances, fluorescent lamps, etc.). Up to 80 different types of waste such as wood, household goods, electrical appliances, computer equipment, tires, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, X-rays, car oil, car batteries, solvents, paints, aerosols, sprays, flat glass, ceramics, crockery, cans, scrap metal, metals, PVC and polyurethane.
As indicated by the Councillor for Street Maintenance and Cleaning, Tomás Sellés, “by bringing these services closer to the public, what we seek is to make the daily act of separating waste as easy as possible and to do so in the correct way, depositing it in the appropriate spaces for its subsequent treatment. We are talking about waste that cannot be deposited in the usual containers, such as electronic devices, used oil, light bulbs, etc. And we always do so with the aim of being more sustainable, taking care of our environment and complying with the corresponding regulations regarding waste treatment and management.”
