Agents of the Benidorm Local Police have arrested two men as alleged perpetrators of thefts in nearly fifty vehicles committed in recent weeks in the Rincón de Loix area. These are two men, aged 20 and 22, who were located by the agents during a special surveillance operation deployed by the Department of Citizen Security in this neighbourhood, after learning of these criminal actions that had the neighbours worried.
The arrest of these individuals occurred in the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, during one of the surveillance rounds that the police who participated in this special device carried out in the area. While traveling along one of the streets, the patrol observed that there was a vehicle with its lights on but with no one inside. After approaching it, they observed marks on the windows and other signs that the car had been broken into, so they requested the collaboration of neighbors in case anyone had seen anything suspicious.
One of the residents provided them with a description of two people he had seen hanging around the area and, with this information, the local police officers finally managed to locate the two accused. At the time of their arrest, both were carrying with them numerous objects that had allegedly been stolen hours before, such as several mobile phones, headphones, cash, several sets of keys to vehicles and private homes, a high-end jacket, a watch, lighters, a flashlight, as well as other elements to carry out the robberies, such as tools and gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints.
After conducting the pertinent proceedings, the two arrested have already been placed at the disposal of the Benidorm duty court.
