Tomorrow Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, in the l'Albir beach library, the Red Cross will set up a public service point, providing preventive information of general interest, as well as carrying out free blood pressure or blood oxygen level tests for those who request it, according to the Councillor for Health, Marisa Cortes.
Every summer, the Red Cross carries out this awareness, health and prevention campaign on the beach of l'Albir. It sets up an information stand every Friday in August on the Paseo de las Estrellas, next to the beach library, and offers information and assistance to bathers and to all people who walk along the promenade. An initiative that is carried out in collaboration with the Health, Tourism and Beaches departments of the l'Alfàs del Pi Town Council.
Red Cross volunteers provide advice on sun protection, heat waves, the importance of hydration and healthy eating, and hand out leaflets summarising the information. They also facilitate the taking of bio measurements, such as blood pressure or blood oxygen levels, for anyone who wishes to do so. “Every summer, the Red Cross carries out this information campaign, in collaboration with the l'Alfàs Town Hall, on the beach, where there are a significant number of bathers,” said the Councillor for Health of l'Alfàs, Marisa Cortés, who wanted to thank them.
This preventive campaign is part of the Red Cross Responds plan and will be operational every Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the beach of l'Albir, until August 31.
The campaign also includes information on first aid, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, jellyfish stings and choking, and on skin cancer prevention.
This is an initiative aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of the population, both residents and visitors, with activities that promote prevention and the spread of healthy habits, in a municipality such as l'Alfàs del Pi, committed to the constant and daily improvement of the quality of life of its residents.
