From today, Saturday 14th June, all lifeguard and rescue services, accessible beach, cleaning reinforcement and free bus service will be active until 30th September.
Vila Joiosa starts its 2024 summer beach season with the hoisting of the 6 blue flags and the 10 Qualitur flags on its beaches and coves. The Mayor Marcos Zaragoza, together with the Councilors for Beaches, Carlos Soler, and for Tourism, Rosa Llorca, have placed each of the flags on the corresponding beaches. Vila Joiosa presents this summer a record number of badges that recognise the environmental quality and services of the beaches and the waters of its coast. The beaches Bol Nou, Centre, La Caleta, Paradís, Varadero and El Torres have a blue flag and the beaches El Xarco, La Caleta, Bol Nou, Paradís, L'Esparrelló, Carritxal, Centre, Varadero, El Torres and El Racó have a Qualitur flag of the Rabbit.
Today, all beach services are launched, such as the accessible beach, in the Basseta de l'Oli area, on Centre beach, which offers an uninterrupted schedule from 10am to 6pm until September 15. The accessible beach has a capacity of 30 people, who are looked after by qualified professionals, in addition to having infrastructure adapted to the needs of users. This season, a new shade area and a platform have been installed to facilitate the mobility of users. In addition, the social services and equality department offers a free transport service to the beach accessible to people with mobility problems from July 1 to August 30. Interested persons can apply for the bus service at the Llar del Pensionista social center until June 21.
From today, the lifeguard and rescue service will also be extended daily on the blue flag beaches. Until September 30, the first aid and health care service will be active from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition, this year the number of lifeguards on Centre beach has increased to six.
Another novelty is the free transport service to access Center beach from Avinguda del País Valencià. From next June 21 and until September 15, there will be a shuttle that will travel an uninterrupted circular route from 10 am to 2.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8 pm every day. The Urban Mobility council offers this free service to replace the mechanical ramps in the Censal park and thus guarantee accessibility to Centre beach.

In addition, the daily cleaning service is reinforced with the schedule from 6 to 12 and from 4 to 8 p.m., which is done both manually and with machinery.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza emphasizes that "all the beaches are in excellent condition so that residents and tourists can enjoy the quality of our waters and perfect services that guarantee the safety and comfort of bathers at each of them. The Departments of Beaches and Tourism have worked tirelessly and services have been strengthened on all beaches, so the result is also the record number of flags certifying the quality and excellence of each one ".
