Tourist spending in Spain’s Valencian Community exceeded €16 billion for the first time in 2025, rising 6% from the previous year, according to data published by Spain’s National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Figures from the Frontur and Egatur surveys showed international visitors spent a total of €16.05 billion in the region last year, up from €15.12 billion in 2024. The increase consolidates the Valencian Community’s strongest performance on record in international tourism.
The number of foreign tourists also reached a historic high, with 12.4 million visitors in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 4.26%.
Average spending per tourist rose to a record €1,292, while average daily expenditure increased by 5.3% to €139, the data showed.
The regional minister for Industry, Tourism, Innovation and Trade, Marián Cano, said the figures confirmed that the sector had met forecasts for both arrivals and revenue.
“We have closed the year in line with expectations, placing the Valencian Community at its best level ever in international tourism,” Cano said, adding that the region was strengthening its competitiveness and appeal in global markets.
December figures also showed strong growth, with 704,494 international tourists visiting the region, up 5.6% year on year. Tourist spending in the month reached €923 million, an increase of 8.8% and the highest December figure on record.
